Weekend Crafts

This weekend I had some extra time on my hands and decided I wanted to do a little scrapbooking. It's been months since I've been able to sit down and cut and paste anything and lately I've had all these neat ideas in my head of what I want to do with pictures I've been wanting to get printed. I take tons of photos and never get them printed...so this is something that's on my to do list for 2011. I NEED to keep up with scrapbooking this year. So, I found some cute photos I took of our pets in last couple years and started adding them to my new scrapbook. We recently moved so I don't have all of my scrapbook supplies handy, only the basics. But I think it's a great start for a new scrapbook   I'll have to post photos of them later...since for some reason they keep posting the wrong way...grrrr.

On My Travel List!

Geez...so many neat places to see! I've been thinking about traveling a lot latetly...mainly because my husband and I are coming up on our 1 year wedding anniversary ♥. We've been inseperable for 8 years, going on 9 in June and we still have yet to travel together. We've made trips to other parts of California, and visited family in Nevada but we have never really gone on long road trip or taken a place together....or a cruise. This has got to change. #1 on my list of adventures is to visit the Grand Canyon or Utah! There are so many cool places to hike and new critters to discover! Neither of us has been and we've been talking about it for a while. We wanted to go for a long weekend back in October for our honeymoon but then my car had issues. Bummer; it's always something. So we still haven't had a honeymoon! So, this only means that our anniversary has to be awesome enough to make up for it and serve as a sweet get-a-way for a perfect 1 yr. So...while I'm brainstorming ideas, I'll post some cool photos of things to do and places to visit, incase we just cannot decide until the last minute ( as usual) where we want to travel to! Who knows, maybe we'll end up in Australia (#3 on my list of adventures)!

New Zealand...a gorgeous place that I would love, love, love to visit. I'm afraid I would never want to leave though! It would be an amazing experience to do some hiking there.

Today in History

Photo taken from http://king-tut.org/

Eighty-eight years ago today, an Archaeologist by the name of Howard Carter entered the tomb of Eqyptian ruler, King Tutankhamen. Carter searched five years for the adolescent ruler with no luck but convinced Lord Carnarvon to let him continue his search for the next year. Finally, in November of 1922, their hard work and dedication paid off. Carter and his team began opening each of the four rooms in the tomb and upon opening the final room, they discovered three nesting coffins. The final and smallest of the three coffins was made of solid gold and contained the mummified remains of the young ruler, King Tut. (http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history). Archaeology has always interested me...although I am not particularly interested in Ancient Egypt. I think may be more of the thrill of discovery that grabs my interest, rather than the history...in this case.

:: Looking Forward to Spring ::

Blooming Desert

Yesterday was so beautiful...the weather just perfect, calm wind, the sun shining. Although I love the Fall and Winter seasons here in the desert, I am hoping Spring will arrive early this year. I can't wait to get out there and search for Horned Lizards, Chuckwallas, and Desert Iguanas! I can't wait to take pictures of the gorgeous wildflowers that blanket the desert in early Spring! I can't wait to take pictures of the pretty sunsets, crazy desert critters and go on long hikes and 4-wheel adventures with my husband. There are so many wonderful things to look forward this Spring...
